Featured Kentucky Golf Courses

Below is a list of this Month's Featured Kentucky Golf Courses.

Houston Oaks Golf Course
Houston Oaks is located 15 minutes from downtown Lexington on scenic and historic Route 27/68 in Paris, Kentucky. Since its opening in July of 1996, Houston Oaks has gained the reputation of being one of the most challenging layouts around. Designed by Jack Ridge, its scenic views, natural creeks and link style holes add to Houston Oak's unique style, which includes cart path that runs through a fully restored horse barn with restrooms and concessions.

Houston Oaks sits on the former Bunker Hunt Horse Farm and is owned and operated by Rosa Lee Rankin and Danny and Susan Miller. Mr. Dwayne Stephens has served as the course Superintendent since construction.

Houston Oaks has been rated by Golf Digest as one of the Top 10 golf courses in Kentucky. It is the only 18-hole golf course located in Paris, Kentucky and is open to the public; however, memberships and outings are welcome. In May 2006, Houston Oaks installed the UpLink GPS System on all of their golf carts.

Lafayette Golf Club at Greenfarm Resort
Designed by Jody Kinney of Dublin, Ohio, Lafayette covers 250 acres, and takes advantage of the varied terrain and the many lakes and rivers on the historic Green Farm property. Opened in May of 1997, the course offers superior golf for all levels of play. Four tees on each hole vary the course from 4200 yards to 6900 yards with the layout design incorporating both links and wooded styles. Lush bermuda fairways and bentgrass greens are surrounded by Kentucky bluegrass rough. Lafayette was awarded the # 2 ranking in Golf Digests Best in State rankings for 2005-2006 in the state of Kentucky. Lafayette was recently named 4-star best courses to play 2006-2007 by Golf Digest. Yet we suggest you come visit us and find out for yourself!

Dale Hollow
The course hugs the south-central hills of this Kentucky landscape beautifully. Ribbons of cart paths wind through some of the best golf around, making these PGA class greens a challenge and delight. You'll find Kentucky Bluegrass roughs, Zoysia fairways and Bentgrass on the tees and greens.

Fox Run - Golf Courses at Kenton County
Another masterpiece by renowned architect Arthur Hills, this distinctively different golf course provides a wonderful blend of architectural style from hole to hole. Here you will find links-type holes which somewhat resemble that of a Scottish golf course. There is a sampling of Carolina-type holes with drastic changes in elevation from tee to green. Finally, there is a balance of more traditional mid-western style golf holes: all of which gracefully blend with the natural terrain and surrounding environment. The absence of housing and condo developments within the course allows the golfer to truly experience nature in its spectacular beauty.
